Personal Information
First Name: Ignatius
Last Name: Hunter
Nickname: N/A
Birth date: 5-26
Age: 22 years old
Weight: 135 lb
Height: 5’7”
Eye colour: Green
Hair colour: Brown
Appearance:
“Tall, dark, and handsome” are terms he wishes described him, but, ultimately, aren’t. A tad bit on the short side, Ignatius doesn’t put much care into appearances. His brown hair is messy, as though he just rolled out of bed. His fair skin burns easily in direct sunlight, a result from his tendency to stay indoors and away from hard labor. Compared to his height, his arms seem slightly longer than they should be, giving him a mild lanky appearance. His eyes, in fact, seem to be the most developed part of him, often studying people and things carefully, displaying an amount of focus not represented in any other part about him.
Special features:
Usually smells faintly of various chemicals, and tends to dress more formally than required in a given situation, but otherwise unremarkable.
Clothing:
When looking at Ignatius, two words seem to pop into mind: expensive and comfortable, though perhaps both are subjective terms. Used to a life of luxury, he often wears expensive clothes and jewelry. Fine clothes, high-quality fabrics, and fancy trims all adorn his clothing. Used to living in a cold environment, he has a preference for long sleeves and pants, as opposed to clothing more suited for warmer weather, or even sailing. Even then, his clothing is rather loose, since he is bothered by clothing that fits him appropriately. For everyday occasions, he prefers his favorite outfit: brown loafers, black slacks, a white button-up shirt with long sleeves, and a red bow tie. This is usually accompanied by a set of suspenders and a tweed jacket. When expecting combat, he typically has a satchel full of flasks, or at least several bottles of questionable content tied to his belt.
Origin and family
Origin: Moneih
Family:

Personality
Personality:
Ignatius is what you’d call a lazy bastard. Born into a well-off family, he was spoiled from the start. Although educated, and certainly intelligent, he doesn’t lift a finger for anything unless something strikes his fancy. While analytical and a self-proclaimed sophisticate, he’s not exactly a “people person.” He’s often blunt and inconsiderate, unless the other person holds valuable chips. Then, he's likely just condescending and slightly troublesome while remaining just as cooperative as he needs to be.
While lazy, Ignatius is, in fact, motivated, though his motivations are almost entirely self-serving. Whether to milk a job for all it's worth or to do exactly what was asked to get someone out of his hair, Ignatius prioritizes little above himself or his alone time. All else is secondary, and thus can wait as long as he can put it off or fall to the wayside on deaf ears. Though despite all that Ignatius is, he's not someone that ignores his debts. At least, one's that can't be repaid in ways other than cash or hard labor. He is a gentleman, to some slight degree, and thus is more than prepared to return favors owed.
Appearance and behaviour:
Ignatius is a "refined and sophisticated man." Growing up in a wealthy family, and thoroughly spoiled, has taught him many things, such as how to interact i high society. Unfortunately, it's also given him a highly inflated ego, as seems to be a common trait in his entire family, and comes out at him looking down on others or otherwise treating them with disdain. Those he considers particularly low he doesn't give any politeness or courtesy at all. After all, there's nothing to benefit from gaining favor of the common rabble, so why should he treat them nicely? Those within his "range of kindness" he treats with a false respect. A forced smile, a polite laugh, and maybe some backhanded compliments. It's all part of the game where he's from. Those far above him he treats with respect, but despises them. They hold a position he might not hold any particular respect for, or perhaps he wants that particular position, and goes through the motions as convincingly as possible in order to swing things in his favor (hopefully).
The worst people, though, are those in direct authority to him. For every short-lived job he's had, he's despised his bosses and managers, if for no reason other than that they were right to boss him around. The gall they had! He would do everything they asked, although begrudgingly and generally half-assed to various degrees. If one weren't particularly concerned about his respect towards them (which is already nonexistent), they could always resort to threats. Not that Ignatius hasn't found a way out of such situations yet (re: quitting).
Ignatius, as would be expected, holds himself in high regard. In addition to dressing the part, he also acts the part as well. Things must be prim and proper, done the right way, and he will accept no less that that. After all, he would rather hold the social high ground, allowing him to gloat about being better than, well, just about everyone else. Even with things such as dining etiquette, he will complain about there not being a proper salad fork, ridicule people nearby for eating with their hands, and demand his napkin be folded into some abstract shape before he unravels it to place in his lap.
Once he's decided he's had enough of being degrading towards others, he tends to bury himself in a book, and likes to give an "intellectual smackdown" whenever he can. While he doesn't appreciate being one-upped, he does, however, take advantage of the opportunity to learn. When the opposite is the case, he doesn't mind teaching, although he'll likely be condescending about it. Once you get past the major case of asshole-ness, he's quite a talkative guy with a wealth of knowledge to contribute. You just need to put up with his thinly veiled insults in the meantime.
Interests and Hobbies:
Drawing, mixing, testing, experimenting, fiddling with mechanisms, disassembling devices, reading, and fishing with explosives.
Preferences: Money, reading, tinkering, women, fine dining, a soft bed, being a smartass
Dislikes: Hard labor, standing out in the sun, being disrespected, getting dragged into other people’s problems
Goals:
To live a life of luxury, preferably without doing too much work. To simply be at ease with his books and devices so he can read and tinker at his leisure. And, most importantly, for people to stop bugging him about their personal matters. Getting rich on the way certainly helps.
Also, figuring out the recipe for reusable matches. He’s convinced those’ll sell well.
History
Ignatius was born in a well-off family on the island of Moneih. Being the first child, he was given much attention and support from a young age, which turned out to be rather unfortunate for his parents. In his first few years, he raised hell, and was waited on hand-and-foot because of it. Once he was up and about, he was raising hell in his home, often setting up crude traps and disassembling expensive things.
As such, Ignatius was placed into the hands of others. Nannies, sitters, and teachers began to dominate his youth, as book after book was shoved in front of him, along with things to assemble and disassemble during reading breaks. This, it was found, was a rather effective means of keeping him out of trouble. As they say, idle hands are the devil’s tools.
Finally having a means of curtailing his poor behavior, his parents and teachers then set upon the task to shape him into a proper gentleman, as would be expected of any Hunter, he was told. Dining etiquette, dancing lessons, learning of the arts, and studying the sciences. While he learned all these things, his concerns lied in fiddling around with contraptions, rather than wooing a woman and not mistaking a marine officer for a servant. Upon reaching 18 and coming to an end of his official schooling, his parents hoped he would thrust himself out into the world, but, alas, he did not.
Mooching off his parents and commandeering their basement, he decided, instead, to work on various contraptions. At his parents request (usually as the result of a lot of arguing), Ignatius did make half-hearted attempts at getting a real job, but these were always short-lived and usually involved breaking someone else’s property. So, back to his parent’s basement he would go.
One unfaithful day, however, Ignatius was working on his life’s ambition: reusable matches. After a series of trials, he had come to the cusp of perfecting his life’s ambition. And he did, in fact, succeed! Unfortunately, they worked a little too well. While he could put them out, they never wanted to stay put out. Turns out, flailing wildly doesn’t put out fires, so many of his highly flammable prototypes soon went up in flames, while began to engulf not only his research notes but the family house as well.
Heroically fleeing the scene of the crime, he returned an hour later to see that his parents hadn’t fared any better. His father, though, had had it with his presence, and promptly booted him from his land. Now, homeless and jobless, Ignatius had to face his greatest fear: employment.
He's since left Moneih, a decision he personally made since the people of his home island knew what kind of lazy bastard he was. He's spent time traveling from port to port, mostly by serving odd jobs on various ships, much to the chagrin of their captains. This has proven unsuccessful, but has kept him off the streets the majority of the time since he was kicked out of his parent's place. Currently, he's found himself at Port Town Botao, having been kicked off a ship due playing sick one too many times. Now jobless, homeless, and with barely any money to his name, he's once again looking for work.

Ignatius slowly walked down the street as the sun began to rise. Stopping, he looked up, feeling as he slowly began to feel warmer. It was… cruel. He had just lost his home, his family, and – most importantly – his research to a fire, and now nature had decided to mock him relentlessly.
Well, maybe he was being a little melodramatic. Looking back, his father was giving him a piercing glare, his fists clenched. His mother was tending to his younger brother. Sure, he had heroically escaped from the house first, but… It was just a house, right? Surely things would return to normal. Soon. Hopefully.
Walking forwards again, he soon found himself by the docks. With the sun fully above the horizon now, he figured it would be best to stow away on a ship to… somewhere. Anywhere. He’d continue his passion on another island, undisturbed, and-
“What the hell?!” he screams out, as a hand grabs his wrist. Looking over, he only sees a marine, a woman marine. Well, this could be… interesting.
